Photos by Ken & Bette Scott-Lodge
My father, Ken Scott-Lodge, moved his family to Cromarty in the late 60s, settling in Moonfleet on Shore Street after it was renovated. He set up a woodworking business in workshops near the West Church, but like many people in Cromarty, was lured by the big wages when HiFab first started.
These pictures are from his albums, mostly taken in the mid 70s by his new wife Bette. Bette may be better known to some as Mrs Howarth, the sewing teacher in Cromarty Primary for a few years.
The pictures mostly focus on Shore Street and the links. Totter and June Mackay were neighbours at the time, and Bette seems to have been keen on photographing their daughter Wanda.
Bette and Ken moved down to England at the end of the 70s. Bette passed away in Sept 2008, and Dad followed in April 2009.
