Wedding of Peter Low & Mary Munro

Ian says: "Wedding of Peter Low and Mary Munro 1933 at Rowan Cottage, Cromarty.

Guests included Lady Ross. Does anyone know the rest of the guests? I do know a few of them, including my own parents. I was there but only 6 weeks old. Babsy Mackay was included, she was 14 yrs old then."

Could you please tell me where Rowan cottage was, thanks?

Nora, Rowan cottage became the Byre restuarant eventually. I think Jess and Alec Hossack were the last to live in it, but I am not sure. If you can speak to Babs. I'm sure she will remember all about it.

Ian, Is that Donnie Munro sitting first right front row ?
Added by Margaret cassie (Clelland ) on 29 March 2006
hi margaret, yes that is donnie, he would be 21 at that time, jess hossack is extreme left, back, and i think john mcdonald is best man on peter lows right, "young john" will be able to confirm that. babsy is 5th from left, on second row, nanny jack is peeking over her shoulder, my father angie is the one under the flag at the back, my brother donald is at the front right, the one with the "bowllie"haircut. i'm not sure but i think thats lady ross at the front, next to my g.father dan.
hopefully someone else will be able to identify the rest, babsy or gracuk is our best bets.

My grandmother was Jessie Hossack, married to Alec. To the best of my knowledge they were the last to live there. [at Rowan Cottage,] my gran died in 1969, I think she was the last one to live there prior to the bar/restaurant being opened.

Hi Ian,
A little time since last communication, however back on stream and today looking at your photogaphs saw my sister Emily (Taylor) on this wedding photograph, she is in the centre wearing a light coloured hat behind and to right of the lady sitting in the front row without a hat (floral patterned dress). My sister was 14 or 15 at the time and I believe she was a bridesmaid at the wedding?? We are continuing with these coincidences, sadly the main players are not or are unlikely to be still with us, kind regards,

Hi Jean, thanks for that, I didn't know that Emily was there. Another member of the party is the boy at the front who is Jamie Phelps, alondside my brother Donald. I'm not sure but I think that is Col. Ross next the minister.

Thats my gran. Grace Munro with the flowered dress.

I think the lady at the left in the light coloured dress and hat could be my aunt Nancy Macdonald.

Peter Low (the groom) is the step-son of my great uncle. I expect his mum and step-father Williamina Low and Peter Anderson will be in the photo too. I'd be delighted if anyone could identify them for me.
