Gravestone of Donald SkinnerPamela Says "This is the gravestone of Donald Skinner born 31 August, 1746 and dying 15 March, 1792 and is buried in the East Church, Cromarty. He married Annie Johnstone in about 1767. The headstone reads 'Placed here by Annie Johnstone in memory of her husband Donald Skinner who passed away in 1792'.
Donald’s father was Donald Skinner Born 1726 in Avoch. Donald and Annie had eight children as far as I know of which one survived into adult life. John Skinner who married Janet Hossack on 11 April, 1800. Because of the close association of the Skinner’s, Hossack’s, Finlaysons and Hoggs, etc I am sure there are people tracing their own family history and will have come across this Donald Skinner and maybe you can be of assistance to me in tracing him back further than I am. I am willing to be of help to others if I can."

Pamela, I believe Donald Skinner is my Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great Grandfather and that John Skinner and Janet Hossack are my Great-Great-Great-Great-Great Grandparents. If I can be of assistance, let me know. Your help would also be much appreciated.
