One must visit cromarty. The man in uniform is Sir General Richard O'Connor [dickie], Kincurdie, Rosemarkie. He was married to the laird's sister. How's about that?

Fortrose Academy’s janitor came round the classrooms handing out union flags, before we boarded buses to take us to Cromarty for this memorable occasion. I was in Brownie uniform and remember the buzz of excitement especially as it meant a day off school!
